Charles Shaughnessy – 66, London

Charles Shaughnessy had a relatively straightforward path to fame and success. The British actor is best known for his role as Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield in the ’90s hit show The Nanny.
Before landing his breakthrough role on The Nanny, Shaughnessy had appeared in only a handful of films and series. Apart from minor roles in 1984’s General Hospital and the 1983 mini Partners in Crime, he has also worked in Harry and the Hendersons, Day-O, and Murphy Brown. Earlier this month, Shaughnessy returned to stage at the helm of Monty Python’s Spamalot as King Author, with the production set at The Ogunquit Playhouse.
