Anne Reid – 86, Newcastle upon Tyne

Since her 1957 debut in The Benny Hill Show and The Machine Breakers, Anne Reid has continued to work as an actress for more than six decades. She is best known for playing Valerie Tatlock, a wife, and a mother, in the popular sitcom Coronation Street.

Apart from her breakout role on Coronation Street, Reid also managed to impress viewers with her performances as Celia Dawson in Last Tango in Halifax and as Jean in the comedy series Dinnerladies. In 2021, she joins co-stars Ruby Rose and Sam Heughan in the action thriller SAS: Red Notice.
