June Brown – 94, Suffolk

June Brown is an original cast member of the popular British sitcom EastEnders. She first joined EastEnders as Dot Cotton for the show’s inaugural season in the mid-80s and has appeared in more than 2,300 episodes since. After her recent exit from Coronation Street, the 94-year-old returned as the mother of a son with Down’s syndrome in the audio drama Missing You.

Fans were heartbroken when Brown announced her exit from Coronation Street last year, having stayed on the popular soap as Dot Cotton for 35 years previously. Audiences grew to love her character as a chainsmoking worker at a laundrette who loves to engage in the occasional banter and gossip.
