Jim Broadbent – 72, Holton cum Beckering

British audiences fell head over heels in love with actor Jim Broadbent for his versatile and often humorous roles. 2001 proved to be a breakout year for the Holton cum Beckering native when he won a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for his memorable performance in the Richard Eyre classic, Iris.
Broadbent started his acting career at a relatively older age during the late ’70s with minor roles. By the early ’80s, he was in big demand, appearing in popular films like The Hit, Dead on Time, Bird of Prey, and The Dogs of War. He is currently busy filming The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
