Jessica Benton – 72, Hampstead

Jessica Benton rose through the ranks of British actresses following her multiple roles as Elizabeth Onedin, Fogarty, and Frazer in BBC’s The Onedin Line. Born in November 1948 in Hampstead, London, she trained as a ballerina and jazz dancer during her younger years.
After making her debut in 1967 in an episode of The Dick Emery Show, Benton found her stride in Hollywood during the ’70s. The decade saw her star in fan-favorite productions such as The Onedin Line, The Juggler of Notre Dame, and De 5 van de 4 daagse. After her exit from The Onedin Line in 1980, Benton has faded away from the public spotlight.
