Leonard Whiting – 71, London

Leonard Whiting found success at an early age when he joined Franco Zeffirelli’s film Romeo and Juliet at the age of 17. The 1968 romantic drama proved to be a massive hit and something fans still remember him for today.

The following year, Whiting managed to produce another critically acclaimed performance in the Rober Shaw adaptation of The Royal Hunt of the Sun. The north London-born actor spent most of his career on the silver screen during the ’60s and ’70s. After appearing in several seasons of The Dreamstone from 1990 to 1995, Whiting disappeared from the public eye before returning 20 years later in Social Suicide.
