British actor Derek Jacobi was the star of one of the most iconic British shows of the ’70s. Set in the early years of the Roman Empire, I, Claudius was a historical masterpiece and a small screen adaptation of Robert Graves’ novels.
Having spent most of his life on stage and in theater, Jacobi has proved his mettle as a versatile actor in stage productions like Oedipus the King, Uncle Vanya, and Hamlet. Along with playing historical figures like Cyrano de Bergerac, Richard III, and Edward II, he also won a Tony for Much Ado About Nothing. He recently appeared in a star-studded short film, urging audiences to get vaccinated.
