Wendy Craig – 87, Sacriston

Anne Gwendolyn “Wendy” Craig rose to prominence in television, playing the roles of a harassed wife in various sitcoms. She is best known for appearing in the comedy Not in Front of the Children. Craig joined the popular show in 1967 and played the role of Jennifer Corner up until 1970.

During the ’60s and ’70s, Craig was at the height of her fame, appearing in several hit productions like The Nanny and The Servant, along with several seasons of Butterflies. After recently receiving her CBE from the Queen, Craig has vowed to keep working in entertainment for the foreseeable future.
