Stanley Baxter – 96, Glasgow

The legendary Scottish actor/comedian Stanley Baxter hasn’t acted on screen since the ’90s (according to IMDb) but is yet to announce his official retirement. Known for his hilarious impressions and productions such as “The Stanley Baxter Show” and “The Stanley Baxter Series,” he started his showbiz career as a BBC Scotland child actor.
A Glasgow native, this British Comedy Awards and BAFTA Awards winner is proud of his heritage and has even authored books on Glasgow. Remarkably, though, this Scottish veteran waited until the summer of 2020 to finally come out as a gay man, a fact that was first published in his autobiography.
