Julie Goodyear – 79, Heywood

Julie Goodyear has enjoyed quite the icon status in showbiz, largely thanks to her long-running role on Coronation Street. She first made her appearance as Bet Lynch on the popular soap opera in 1966. Although she was initially introduced as a minor character, she made a comeback in 1970 on a more permanent basis.

Apart from starring in various silver screen and film iterations of Coronation Street, Goodyear has also worked in popular television series like The Man in Room 17 and Revolver. Since her first outing as Bet Lynchin 1966, Goodyear is one of the oldest cast members on the ITV soap, appearing in more than 1,000 episodes.
