Petula Clark – 88, Ewell

British singer-songwriter Petula Clark started her professional career during the Second World War. The two-time Grammy Award winner began singing professionally when she was just seven years of age. Her soulful ballads during the war proved to be a welcome respite for Britain’s exhausted and overwhelmed troops.
Clark has enjoyed one the largest chart spans of any musician in British history, making her one of the country’s best-selling female artists of all time. Petula Clark will join the cast of Marry Poppins in the West End upon the musical’s reopening this summer.
