Legendary British Actors Who Are Still Alive, Proving Age Is Just A Number!

Ami Ciccone Mar 14, 2022

Anthony Hopkins – 83, Margam

Before he found his calling in showbiz, Sir Anthony Hopkins had aspirations of becoming a concert pianist. By the time he turned 18, the Thor actor had developed a passion for acting, thanks to his acting classes at a YMCA dramatic club. The esteemed actor made history recently when he became the oldest performer to win an Academy Award for Best Actor.

After getting inspiration from actor Richard Burton at the age of 15, Hopkin set out to emulate his idol. In just a few decades, he had churned out smash hits like The Silence of the Lambs, Remains of the Day, and The Mask of Zorro, The Edge.

Charles Dance – 74, Redditch

In case you haven’t been living under a rock for the past decade, chances are, you are probably familiar with Charles Dance’s work. He recently played a key figure in one of the biggest TV shows of our generation— his role as Tywin Lannister in HBO’s blockbuster Game of Thrones has catapulted the British actor’s star power to new heights.

Before he became famous as the patriarch of the Lannister family, Dance had famously worked in productions like Gosford Park and The Imitation Game. If the latest reports are to be believed, Dance is on track for his first Emmy win for his portrayal of Lord Mountbatten in The Crown.
