George Alagiah – TV Presenter, £325K

George Alagiah’s interest in journalism dates far back to his college days. While studying politics at Van Mildert College, he was a writer and eventual editor for the student newspaper “Palatinate.” However, his big break came in 1989 when he joined the BBC. Early assignments involved covering events in countries Liberia, Rwanda, and Iraq.
Alagiah was best known as a newsreader on “BBC News at Six” from 2003 to 2021. In 2020, he released his debut novel titled “The Burning Land.” Although he took a break from TV in 2021, a BBC report released that year revealed he earned £325K.
