Cougar 4×4 – Cost: $475,000

The Cougar 4×4 is a type of Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle made to withstand improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The Cougar, which is also armed with multiple machine guns, first entered service in 2004 and is primarily used by the United States Army and Marine Corps.
It’s also used in other countries. Poland, for example, operates around 40 Cougars as a loan from the United States. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has hundreds of vehicles, which were based on the Cougar 4×4. The American-made MRAP cost $475,000 to make in 2002.
