LAV-25 – Cost: $900,000

The Lav-25 Light Armored Vehicle is among the oldest vehicles still used by the Marine Corps today. And it’s not hard to see why. It’s proven to be reliable for a variety of functions, from reconnaissance missions to assaults. Designed to operate on both land and water, it can also carry weapons and other military equipment.
However, the Marine Corps seems ready to upgrade and invest money for a LAV-25 replacement. It started looking for proposals for the creation of an Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle prototype in 2021. This is in line with the Marine Corps’ Force Design 2030 initiative.
