Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye – Cost: $80 Million

The Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye serves an important role in the United States Navy. Simply put, it warns the naval task force of any approaching airborne threats and supplies fighter aircraft with positional data. It carries these duties sitting at an impressive 25,000 feet in the air.
Since its first flight in the ‘60s, the E-2 Hawkeye has had several iterations, including the E-2D Advanced and E-2C. The former is equipped with more advanced technology features, including an improved radar and a modern communications suite. The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is now considered to be an integral part of the Navy’s missile defense.
