Japan’s F-35 Lightning II – Cost: $220 Million

The United States isn’t the only producing impressive military vehicles. Its former World War II foe Japan is also doing the same thing. Among the most notable purchases is the F-35 Lightning II. The Asian country actually performs its own final assembly of the aircraft at a Komaki South FACO facility in Nagoya.
Japan reportedly has 147 F-35 aircraft. Well, minus one. It lost one in a crashing accident in 2019. The wrecked fighter jet, which was eventually found in the Pacific Ocean, was the first F-35 assembled in the country.
