USS Zumwalt – Cost: $7 Billion

Going from a service ship to an attack one, meet the USS Zumwalt. Considered to be the world’s most advanced surface combatant, it boasts of having the latest in war technology, from an electric propulsion system to a stealth design.

Its main mode of attack is getting as close to the shore as possible before unleashing its arsenal of onboard weapons. This includes an electromagnetic rail gun that can eject projectiles five times faster than the speed of sound. Construction of the USS Zumwalt began in 2009, with the ship being launched in 2013.
