USS America – Cost: $3.4 Billion

Many ships have borne the name USS America. The latest one is a Northrop Grumman-made amphibious assault ship, which was delivered in 2014. Measuring 843 feet long, it can accommodate over 3,000 personnel and is equipped with a wide array of facilities.

Not only can the current USS America, the fourth one to bear the name, deliver aircraft it can also service them for maintenance. The warship also has a hospital, fuel storage, and aviation support areas onboard. Thus, it can serve transnational maritime forces as well in times of need.
