Rik Smits – 7’4″ – Basketball

Rik Smits is a Dutch former basketball player who’s best remembered for his 1998 NBA All-star award and for reaching the NBA Finals in 2000 with the Indiana Pacers (the only professional team he represented throughout his career). He was also notably tall, even for NBA standards, standing at 7’4”. 

Smits was born in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, but moved to the US in 1984 to play for Marist College and follow his dream of becoming a professional basketball player. Derrick Smits, Rik’s son, is looking to make the best out of his terrific genetics and currently plays for Valparaiso University. The younger Smits’ height is listed at 7’1”.
