John Amos – 81

For the comedy and drama faithful of the ‘70s and ‘80s, John Amos is a pretty familiar face. Who could ever forget his role as Cleo McDowell, the father of Prince Akeem’s love interest in the 1988 classic “Coming to America.” Equally impressionable was his role as Kunta Kinte in the 1977 miniseries “Roots.”

Fast track to several decades later, and Amos is still going strong in Hollywood. He has a Primetime Emmy nomination to boast off, and he’s still able to bag notable roles in big-screen flicks. He starred in the movie “Because of Charley” in 2021.
