Rest Between Sets

The one thing more important than doing routines is resting between sets and exercises. This allows the muscles to recuperate, oxidize lactic acid and gain back some strength to continue the session. It is specifically done so that the next move can be done with the same vigor and strength.
The optimal time for resting between sets is two to five minutes. This is deemed optimal especially for people trying to build strength. For those trying to build muscle, shorter periods of rest are required, say 30 to 90 seconds. If you’re training for endurance, then even shorter rest periods, say 20 seconds, are required.
