Academy Of The Sacred Heart

Although the Academy of the Sacred Hearts has numerous branches across the country, the one located in New Orleans deserves a special mention. Established in 1867, this private Roman Catholic all-girls high school used to be a convent. Affectionately referred to as the Rosary, the campus lies in the middle of moss-covered oaks at St. Charles Avenue.
The institution’s building resembles 19th century Colonial Revival style architecture. A massive wrought-iron fountain in the school is one of its signature attractions. The school has received numerous upgrades over the years, including an Arts and Athletics complex. While the campus continues to evolve, the faculty has retained its classical style.
