Grosse Pointe South High School

Today where the Grosse Pointe South High School stands, the place initially used to be swampland. The area was transformed in 1928 into manicured gardens to establish an educational campus. Its stunning main building features a Georgian Revival style appearance designed by architect George Haas.
Apart from being an architectural marvel, its 133-foot tower surrounded by other structures stands out most on the campus. While the institution’s breathtaking view makes it a winner for us, the list of its notable alumni helps the school win brownies points. Many of us remember Edward Hermann for his role in ‘Richie Rich,’ who graduated from this educational institution.
