Pete Townshend – $150 Million

Still going strong at 74 years of age, Pete Townshend can look back on an iconic career. For more than 5 decades, he’s been rocking stadiums with The Who, which he founded and led as a guitarist and backing singer. He’s responsible for hit songs like Who’s Next and Won’t Get Fooled Again. 

Townshend has released 12 studio albums with The Who, who released their latest album in 2019, titled Who. He’s also been criticized numerous times for controversial and extreme statements. For instance, in 2019 he claimed that his band is actually responsible for the heavy metal genre. Quite an exaggeration!
