John Lennon – $800 Million

Most people (and many acclaimed musicians) believe that The Beatles were the most influential band in the history of music. The band’s biggest star was, of course, John Lennon, whose song-writing talent was unique. Following The Beatles’ disband in 1970, he formed the Ono Plastic Band with his wife Yoko Ono and embarked on a solo career.

Lennon was equally successful as a solo artist, and you definitely remember tunes like Imagine. It is estimated that, at the time of his murder in December 1980, by an alleged fan, Lennon sat on an $800 million net worth. His legacy is now kept alive by his son Sean Lennon, who plays for The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and other bands.
