Kurt Cobain – $50 Million

Coming from a middle-class family and raised as the “unwanted kid”, Kurt Cobain would grow up to conquer the world. Following the formation of Nirvana, Cobain became one of the biggest stars worldwide, with hit songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit. He was the one who brought grunge rock to the limelight.

However, Cobain wasn’t a man who liked stardom. Crumbling under the pressure of the showbiz and his cocaine and heroin addiction, Cobain ultimately took his own life in 1994, aged just 27 years old. He released just three albums with Nirvana, yet, he remains probably the biggest Generation X icon.
