Kanye West Finally Apologizes for Taylor Swift VMA Controversy

Everyone remembers the 2009 Video Music Awards when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video by taking the microphone away from her. The rapper actually apologized to the singer on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” which is news to some.

Kanye and Rihanna were scheduled to perform, but prior to their appearance, Kanye gave an unexpected interview in which he expressed regret for his “rude” conduct and apologized to the audience. Leno didn’t back down and even mentioned how his mom would have felt about it. Kanye, who had a close relationship with his mother, found the question particularly moving and shed a few tears.
