Stephen Pitches Wanted a Sequel Of the LOTR

You probably didn’t know that Stephen Colbert in “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.” The presenter wanted to get a spinoff franchise going for his character Laketown Spy, so he went to New Zealand and talked with filmmaker Peter Jackson.

The director doesn’t seem too enamored with the pitch, but the trailer clip where Jackson becomes his sidekick and constantly makes references to other franchises is hilarious. Viggo Mortensen, Ian McKellen, and Elijah Wood, who played important roles in the “Lord of the Rings” films, all made cameo appearances. Even if you’re not a fan of the franchise, you gotta give it to him for his efforts.
