Joaquin Phoenix’s Bizarre Act on Letterman

You may have seen the very cringeworthy interview Joaquin Phoenix had with David Letterman if you watched this episode or are a fan of watching old interviews with actors and actresses. He had been marketing his movie, “I’m Still Here,” and he had made every effort to stay in character throughout.

It was obvious that he was acting out a role during his 2009 appearance on “Late Night,” but neither the viewers nor Letterman were in on it. His attitude and mannerisms, in addition to his appearance, made for a hilariously awkward session. A year later, he did make a return appearance on the show to explain his previous behavior.
