1967 Toyota 2000GT

We all love our Prius and Corrolla, but Toyota was renowned for making imitative vehicles back in the swinging sixties. That all changed with the 1967 Toyota 2000GT. A sporty, fastback coupé that put the company and Japan as a whole on the map in the high-performance car category.
It was even compared favorably to a Porsche 911 by Road & Track magazine and is seen as the first Japanese collectible and supercar. It was also used in racing, coming third at the 1966 Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji. It also appeared as a Bond vehicle in the 1967 film “You Only Live Twice,” which was shot mainly in Japan.
