Grease (1978)

Grease is a romantic-comedy directed by Randal Kleiser. The movie features actors like John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, and Stockard Channing. Funnily enough, it was titled Grease after the central characters’ greasy hair. Danny even used grease for removing his class ring while filming the movie. 

In 1979, the movie won the People’s Choice award for the favorite musical motion picture. It made over $190 million at the box office and international revenue of more than $206 million. On November 27, 2020, John Travolta posted an emotional video message on Instagram thanking his fans for supporting him after his wife’s death.
