The Sound of Music (1965)

If you enjoy musical movies, we bet you’d be familiar with The Sound of Music. Released on March 2, 1965, it was directed and produced by Robert Wise. The film was adapted from Lindsay and Crouse’s stage musical books. Julie Andrews played the lead role in the movie. 

The Sound of Music was the highest-grossing movie five years after its release. It made a box office collection of $159.3 million while the adjusted domestic gross was $1.41 billion. On December 27, 2020, the MailOnline released an article stating that Julie Andrews received £1.5 million for narrating the drama, Bridgeton.
