The Ten Commandments (1956)

Released on November 8, 1956, The Ten Commandments is based on the life of Moses. The story came from an amalgamation of books like Prince of Egypt, Pillar of Fire, On Eagle’s Wings, and the Book of Exodus.
The lead role of Moses was played by Charlton Heston, for which he got nominated in the 14th Golden Globe Awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama). Unfortunately, the actor couldn’t win the award, but he bagged many other awards for his spectacular performance. The movie earned $65.5 million at the box office, which is equal to $1.18 billion today.
