The Exorcist (1973)

Directed by William Friedkin, The Exorcist is based on a novel written by William Peter Blatty in 1971. The supernatural movie was released on December 26, 1973, and featured Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair in lead roles. Many viewers were severely affected by the movie’s realistic visuals, especially during gory scenes like the one depicting the miscarriage suffered by a pregnant woman.
Keeping aside the difficulties and criticisms, the movie made a good box office collection of approximately $996.5 million according to today’s time. Releasing on December 30, 2020, is Ellen Burstyn’s next movie named Pieces of a Woman, where she will be seen as Elizabeth Weiss.
