One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961)

One Hundred and One Dalmatians is based on Dodie Smith’s novel of the same name and is Disney’s 17th animated film. The story features a brood of small Dalmatians who are kidnapped by Cruella De Vil. The dog rescue is then executed by the brood’s parents Pongo and Perdita. They’re shown rescuing 84 more puppies along with their own brood, and this brings the total pups featured in the movie to 101.

Released on January 25, 1961, the movie collected $144.9 million, which currently amounts to $900.3 million. On May 28, 2021, a prequel to the movie titled Cruella will be released.
