Avatar (2009)

James Cameron had been preparing for Avatar since 1994 and was planning to film it after the release of the 1997 movie, Titanic. However, the limited technological advancements of the time delayed the plan. When it was finally made though, Avatar was beyond every spectator’s imagination. 

Released on December 18, 2009, the full movie was made using motion capture filming techniques, and the star cast included actors like Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, and Sigourney Weaver. The movie made a box office collection of $876.8 million. On December 16, 2020, James Cameron shared photos from Avatar 2 set, stating that the filming for the 2021 movie was completed.
