The Graduate (1967)

Directed by Mike Nichols, The Graduate was released on December 21, 1967. The movie is an adaptation of Charles Webb’s novel that he wrote after graduating from Williams College. The story revolves around Benjamin Braddock who falls in love with a girl named Elaine, but the situation gets complicated when he’s enticed by Elaine’s mother Mrs. Robinson.
The star cast included Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, and Katharine Ross in lead roles. The movie was a huge hit and made an unadjusted domestic gross of $104.9 million, the adjusted gross being $771.5 million.
