Juliane Werding, 65 years old

She was one of the really great pop singers of the 1970s and 1980s: Juliane Werding. The song “On the day Conny Kraber died” (1972) gave the Essen native her musical breakthrough. When she was just 15, she landed at number 1 in the charts with this number. Catchy tunes like “Night full of shadows” (1983) and “Stimmen im Wind” (1986) followed. But in 2009 came the shock news for Juliane’s fans, because after 22 studio albums, the singer decided to withdraw from the public. Instead, she wanted to pursue her profession as a non-medical practitioner. In Starnberg, Upper Bavaria, she is said to have joined a group practice. Fans are still hoping for a comeback from the hit star, but unfortunately hope seems hopeless.
