The Man With the Shades

Sunglasses were introduced to America in the late ’20s and were mass produced and sold by Sam Foster on the beaches of Atlantic City. They took some time to catch on to the rest of the western world and weren’t that popular up until the ’50s.
So it is surprising to see a man wearing them in ’40s British Columbia. Compared to everybody else in the picture, he stands out like a sore thumb. He is wearing sunglasses and a hoodie while everybody else is rocking those hats. He looks like he is from the ’90s or possibly even 2010.
