A Swimmer’s Nightmare

Australia features some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. But there’s a catch. With a registered 20 shark attacks per year, some Aussie beaches can make you feel like you’re about to enter a scene from “Jaws.” So if you see one of these signs in the land down under, make sure you have some powerful sunscreen to spend the day in the sand!

To be fair, Australians are very aware of the dangers of swimming next to predators as vicious as sharks. However, in 2021, Sydney’s first fatal shark attack was registered in over six decades, with the victim being a British diving instructor.
