Waffle Burgers Are a Real Thing

Considering we’ve already seen a meat patty in the middle of two deep-fried Twinkies, this waffle-with-burger sandwich looks like child’s play. But in the South, the Waffle Burger is a pretty popular recipe that can be found in many styles and different versions.

Some meaty waffles may include chicken instead of beef/pork and even syrup! Healthier versions normally feature some type of white meat, a fried egg, a slice of cheese, tomatoes, and a hint of herb mayonnaise. While we have to admit this is not our favorite waffle combo (ice cream forever!), it does look kind of tasty.
