Gravity of the Tire Grooves

While the unique patterns tires leave in soft terrain or snow due to the grooves designed into the tiers, that is not the only purpose of these indents. These uniques Grooves serve two essential safety-related functions.
The first function, and the more commonly known one, is to provide friction so that the vehicle doesn’t slip on the road and avoids skidding when the driver steps on the breaks. Secondly, and the less commonly known use is to indicate when tires need to be changed. So when the deepest grooves become shallow, and the tire looks smooth, it needs to be changed.
