Ginseng

Ginseng is one of the most consumed root plants in the USA, and virtually all households have a stock of these. China is the leading supplier of this nutritious root to the USA, making it one of the most imported food crops.
However, recently it has come to light that the Ginseng imported from China to the USA could lead to health problems due to its chemical composition. While certain chemicals are imperative for its growth, Greenpeace has found high levels of pesticides and other harmful substances in Chinese Ginseng. Resulting in each and every one of these roots reported to contain hazardous chemicals.
