Regarding consistency, Mexico deserves points for being one of the best teams to show up at the FIFA World Cup. They’ve qualified for every tournament since the 1990 ban. And even without making it past Round 16 in those long years, their efforts certainly are noticed.

Finishing 12th out of 32 after suffering a defeat at the hands of Brazil in 2018 is not such a good look. This supportive fan was seen at the 2014 event, where the Netherlands knocked them out after a 2-1 match. In all, Mexico and Brazil hold the record for the most consecutive 2nd round appearances.
