Valentina Cortese – 95

Valentina Cortese, known for her many roles during the second half of the 20th century, is an Italian actress whose role on Day for Night in 1973, earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She started making money through acting by doing films in Italy in the ‘40s and already had an acclaimed role in Riccardo Freda’s Les Misérables. She went international by the time the ’50 began. Valentina Cortese is also known for her portrayals on The Barefoot Contessa, Le Amiche, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and many others. Her son, actor Jackie Basehart, died in 2015 and Valentina has since withdrawn from the public, probably as her way of coping.
