Actress Maitê Proença is one of the top stars on Brazilian television. She began her career in 1970, when Brazilian drama was just beginning to gain recognition, and was one of the people responsible for taking the country’s soap operas to a high level of artistic production. Maitê has appeared in the best soap operas in the country’s history, such as Torre de Babel, Da Cor do Pecado, Passione, and many more. At 61 years of age, Maitê is no longer appearing in soap operas, but she has some documentary and TV series projects lined up for 2020.
