Legs that Dazzle

Back in the day, women had to get creative when it came to their legs if they hoped to catch the eye of their male counterparts. But what brought about such a concept? During World War II, rationing made stockings a rare commodity, so they had to resort to leg makeup for that silky-smooth look.
Some even went as far as drawing fake socks seams with eyeliner to make them more realistic. But it wasn’t until the ’60s when miniskirts were all the rage, that leg makeup took off. It wasn’t about creating the illusion of stockings anymore but about hiding bruises and blemishes.
