Alex Wilson

Alex Wilson has been warning us on what hailstorms to look out for ages. She earned her degree in journalism from Syracuse University. When she was younger, she had no intention of becoming a weatherwoman. But after a while, she fell in love with the field and quickly decided to pursue formal schooling.

Wilson joined South Carolina’s WHNS-TV with a newfound interest after earning an advanced degree from Penn State University. She landed the opportunity of a lifetime when she signed on as The Weather Channel’s new face in March 2013 after much trial and error and brief stints with other networks. She married the love of her life, Eric Zerkel, who works as an editor at the channel in 2018.
