Darya Klishina – 5’11” – Long Jump
Darya Klishina is a 5’11 long jump athlete from Russia with an Olympic silver medal and the record for the second-best long jump. She began playing volleyball at age 8 but quickly changed to athletics due to the influence of her father, who is a former athlete.
After the drug scandal involving the Russian National Federation, all Russian athletes were banned from participating in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Along with a small group of other 19 sportsmen, Klishina decided to enter the games as a neutral competitor; a decision that proved to be very polemic and that was viewed unfavorably by Russian authorities and population.
